Welcome to Ken Gill Photography, the Blog...
Another nice day in February we thought it would be nice to get out and see the animals at the Minnesota Zoo. Most were out enjoying the weather, except the Grizzly's, they were still hibernating...
We took the kid to see the ducks in Veterans Park, Shakopee. He was really excited to see all the birds and watch them gobble up the free bread. Click to see more...
Kieran chasing ducks...

We decided to get out of the house and go see the animals inside at the Minnesota Zoo. Kieran really enjoyed seeing all the animals he's only seen in books...
In 2011 I entered the Bluefin Bay Calendar Contest and one of my images was selected for July:

My prize, besides being in the calendar, was a gift certificate for Bluefin Bay. So we headed north, dropped the kids at Grandmas and had a couple cozy nights at Bluefin Bay on a cold January weekend. We also had a showing at the Waterfront Gallery in Two Harbors. I between staying warm we stopped in Grand Marais for some shopping and picture taking. Here are some of the frozen shots:

We took another trip to the Minnesota Zoo in November. It is interesting to see how Kieran reacts to the animals as he gets older. Here are a few shots, taken when I wasn’t pushing a stroller or chasing a 15 month old.

We took a stroll in the late fall to Jabs Farn in Louisville Swamp in the Minnesota Valley National Wildlife Refuge. It was a nice warm day I took some photos while Kieran & Jill were stretching their legs.

We had a fabulous time celebrating Lorries Birthday in New Orleans, making some new friends, and getting plenty of exercising from all the walking in the French Quarter. We stayed in the Quarter, and I was able to walk around a lot and get pictures, much easier to stop and get a picture than stopping the car, getting out, and getting the camera before missing the shot. I ended up shooting 1800 shots in three and a half days and picked out around 340 favorites. Hope you enjoy…

First I started at Split Rock Lighthouse State Park to catch the sunrise, that didn’t happen. Then I took a drive through the Superior National Forest, Fall color routes and wasn’t disappointed…

This was my first photo excursion to the Minnesota Landscape Arboretum, in Chanhassen, MN. You would think since I used to live five minutes from here I would have gone a long time ago, but I didn’t. Even though this was late in the summer, the flowers were still fabulous. Have to admit this has to be one of the best shoots I have done in one day, what do you think…
